Kitchen Days 3 & 4

Well, Day 3 and 4 are less exciting.
Day 3 was only an hour of work - taking down the crown molding on the remaining walls.

Day 4, was actually tidious - though you won't see much changed. Every single electrical box in the room had to be moved.
Becuase the new cabinets and counters will have a propper backsplase, the outlets are in the way. They had to be raised up about 4 inches each. NOT fun. Also, the new refrigerator location requires another outlet to be moved about 3 feet. That's me doing the work here (fun, eh?).

Oh, also ran new lines and a new switch for the garbage disposal. Briefly considered getting rid of the disposal and rerouting that power to under-cabinet lighting. But that involves more cabinet for the trim. And the kitchen already has task lighing. That's enough for me:)

The only noticable difference in the end will be the new cable box location.
Previously the TV hung from the ceiling in the corner. Now, a nice 15-inch flat panel will be mounted to the wall, just above the counter where the food prep station is. The cable and power will be right behind it, so it should work perfectly and look great.

Another big part of Day 4 was spent at Home Depot - purchasing plywood and more dryall.
Feel free to take this insider tip - buy Home Depot stock now. Their shares are sure to rise with the increased quarterly profits to which I am contributing. But don't rat me out like I'm Martha Stewart or anything.

I promise better pictures tomorrow. Hopefully the next post will show a leveled floor and fresh (unmudded) drywall!
