Kitchen Day 2 - Demo

I called it! no floors under the cabinets. Well, actutally - some have floor (old floor). As it turns out, there are multiple layers of floor in various areas. Wood floors, tile sloors, Vinyl Tile floors, and then the lovely thick stone floor. Luckily the new layout puts cabinets back everywhere there were previously cabinets (plus some). The trick now will be to level out the gaps.
Oh and there will be a tad more ceiling repair that I had planned. Apparently the bulkhead over the stove cabinets had no ceiling above it.
This is unfortunate because there will NOT be cabinets going back there. Just shiny tiles and hopefully your eyes when you walk in.

The most unfortunate part of this was the rat skeleton that fell out of the bulkhead. Go ahead and throw up a little - I wanted to.
(side note - who knew rats had such large canine teeth?)

Also, take a look at the lovely mixed media that existed behind the cabinets. Tile, plywood, you name it. It was there.

oh, and NOTE - these pics are taken after the demo was cleaned out, vacuumed, and the remaining floor was mopped down.
